Sparhawk Infant & Nursery

School Dinners

Hot school meals are cooked by our County Catering provider (Norse) and eaten in our school hall. A main course and dessert is served. Alternatives are available (see school website for an up to date menu). Wherever possible Norse uses fresh fruit and vegetables and meat from local suppliers. We aim to provide our children with a healthy diet.

As part of a Government initiative in 2014 all infant aged pupils are entitled to receive a free hot meal every day. Please ensure you have completed the school meals form available from the office, to ensure your child receives their meal.

Norse now have a new catering-specific website. (Norse website)

Mid-Morning Drinks and Snacks

The school is part of the Government’s free fruit initiative and every child is offered a piece of fruit at break time each day. Children may also bring their own piece of fruit, carrot or celery etc to eat at morning break if they wish.

These should be named so that they can’t get muddled with another child’s snack.

Children who are under 5 years old can have free milk each day.

As a healthy school we feel it is important that your child regularly drinks water. Please send your child in with a named water bottle with a spill proof top. Children are encouraged to drink from these bottles throughout the day.
